Parsonsia heterophylla



This climber is throughout the bush. It begins life on the ground when the leaves are paired and quite narrow. As the climber grows into the upper levels of the forest the leaves change their shape becoming much rounder. It is at this stage that the flowers appear as quite small, pale yellow, groups giving out a strong scent, this attracts the moths which are the chief pollinating agents. Th pods fromthis plant are quite long (15 cm) and seen in summer and autumn hanging in clusters.
