Wineberry

Aristotelia serrata

Mako-Mako

Wine berry exists in only one spot presumably because it is a favoured food of the possum. In this reserve it is most easily recognised by leaves which are well eaten. The leaves are quite thin and deeply serrated. It can have a very reddish colouration to the back of the leaves; the flowers are white with a pretty pinkish tint.
