Mangemangeroa is recognised as a Premier Park and is described as an area of dramatic estuarine landscape at the edge of the Auckland urban area. The flora found in the Reserve represents a variety of podocarp and coastal forest not easily viewed elsewhere in suburban Auckland. Well sign posted and maintained walks run along the estuary from Sandspit Road to Hayley Lane.
2019 public planting days – to be advised
With the March 2017 ‘weather bombs’ there are still a number of areas which are still not completely repaired but the track is usuable. It will take some time before the Council get these sorted. The best access is from the Somerville Road carpark, walk down the path below the Barn (or to the right of the barn) and return to the car park where the path meets the paddock.
